SPIN Adventures in Typography

SPIN Adventures in Typography

The latest offering from Unit Editions will awaken your inner typographic experimentalist.

What is the value of experimentation in typography these days? Where does your inspirational process begin when attempting to discover new ideas about letterforms? How do we reengage with our intuitive typographic selves?

Unit Editions gets a little closer to answering these questions in their latest publication: “SPIN/Adventures In Typography;” an exploration of the creative process of London design studio SPIN. This 52 page book brought to life by editors Tony Brook & Adrian Shaughnessy “continues the conversation started with the studio’s 2015 monograph ‘SPIN 360°.’” Unit Editions describes this new printed extension as “a repository for trains of thought, itches that needed to be scratched, as well as fresh new journeys”, full of “combustive explorations not afraid to plunge into the abstract, teetering on the edge of legibility.”

The book is being printed in an edition of 1,000 with three different colored covers. SPIN’s experiments expose an engagement with typography that many claim, but few practice. If you’re looking for a way to pick up your own conversation with play, process, and exploration in typography, let “SPIN/Adventures in Typography” be what you reach for.
